Dr. Finley was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on August 14, 1952. The Finley family then moved to New Jersey in 1954 where Bob grew up and attended elementary and high school.

Bob Joined the U.S. army after school and served a tour in Viet Nam. After the army, he pursued a career in flying. He earned his commercial pilots licence from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Oklahoma and later his instrument and flight instructors rating from Emery Aviation in Colorado.

After training, he was hired as a flight instructor and charter pilot by King Air in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It was here that bob met a chiropractor, named Don Wascher, while on a long trip to visit Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. (Bob was the pilot) In Bob's words; "The Chiropractor never stopped talking about Chiropractic for the whole trip, from Pa to S.C. But by the time we got there, I was thinking that this might be something I would like to do". Two months later Bob enrolled in Spartanburg Methodist College to get the two years credit he needed before he then entered Sherman College. He graduated in 1981 and moved to Ireland in 1982.

His first year in Ireland was spent practicing on Upper Clanbrassil St. in South Dublin. After that he spent another year on Herberton Rd in Rialto, then ten years on Trees Road in Mount Merrion. Now he practices in his purpose built office in Blackrock, Co Dublin.

Bob was a founding member of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland until January 2016 and is now a founding member of the Allied Chiropractic Group.
